This is another good example of the increasing popular Porsche 914. Now perhaps the only entry level model for those who want to get into the air-cooled Porsche scene. Now could be a good time to buy with values rising and much improved spare parts supply. Perhaps previously overlooked this is a proper Porsche on the road. And that means its well-engineered, lightweight with great handling and good performance from an air-cooled engine. The four-cylinder engines are derived from VW, tough & reliable they are easy to tune with a huge choice of performance parts available. There is a very lively and active 914 owners club in the UK offering lots of support and opportunities for socialising.
The car for sale here is a 1971 model brought into the UK about 5 years ago from sunny Florida by the present owner. Its been well maintained during this time with lots of genuine Porsche parts fitted. More recently its had new suspension all round and rebuilt rear brake calipers. Its in lovely condition inside, outside and underneath. The only change from the factory specification is the Weber carburetor but don’t let this put you off. The 1700’s run well on these There’s also a complete original Bosch fuel injection system, acquired by the owner but never fitted, included with the car. Outstanding value.
