This car is a 1972 model originally brought into the UK from California in 1997 by Stateside Tuning
This is a good example of the increasing popular Porsche 914. Now perhaps the only entry level model for those who want to get into the air-cooled Porsche scene. Now could be a good time to buy with values rising and much improved spare parts supply. Perhaps previously overlooked this is a proper Porsche on the road. And that means its well-engineered, lightweight with great handling and good performance from an air-cooled engine. The four-cylinder engines are derived from VW, tough & reliable they are easy to tune with a huge choice of performance parts available. There is a very lively and active 914 owners club in the UK offering lots of support and opportunities for socialising.
This car is a 1972 model originally brought into the UK from California in 1997 by Stateside Tuning. Based in London in those days they were among the first to start importing rust-free cars from the USA and owner Jim Calvert used to race one, as well as importing performance parts. It has benefited from lots of work in the UK over the 24 years and that sets it apart from the fresh USA imports that have not always been repaired to the same standards.
Recent work with leading specialists includes a gearbox rebuild, rebuilt rear brake calipers, MOT prep and a comprehensive service. It’s a good-looking car that performs well on the open road and great value for money.
